About

About the
Project

Level Up Your Finances was created to equip adult educators with innovative methodologies to educate women in financial literacy. The project recognises financial skills as central to gender equality, economic independence and everyday decision-making.

The project aims to close the gap in women’s financial knowledge and confidence by promoting interactive and experiential learning. Instead of using only traditional financial education methods, the project introduces gamification, simulations, role play and real-life case studies.

As a result, the partnership will develop practical educational resources, including a collection of good practices, adaptable financial literacy games and a toolkit that can support adult educators across Europe.

Context

Why this project
exists

Many women in Europe still face barriers in managing their finances, planning their economic future or feeling confident when making financial decisions. These barriers are often connected to limited access to financial education, social inequalities, lower income, migration background, unemployment or lack of confidence.

At the same time, many adult educators need more practical and interactive tools to teach financial literacy in ways that are accessible, inclusive and relevant to women’s real lives.

Level Up Your Finances responds to these needs by creating learning methods that are practical, playful and easy to adapt to different educational contexts.

Goals

Project
Objectives

02

Enhance adult educators’ competences with tools and methodologies for teaching financial literacy to women.

03

Close the gender confidence gap by addressing women’s financial knowledge and self-perception of financial skills.

04

Foster interactive and experiential learning through gamification, simulations, role play and real-life case studies.

05

Promote financial inclusion, especially for women from vulnerable, low-income or underrepresented backgrounds.

06

Develop a transferable toolkit with good practices and adaptable games for financial literacy education.

Timeline

Project
Journey

  1. 01

    Research and good practices

Partners collect and analyse good practices related to financial education for women, gamification in learning, gamification in financial education and the role of adult educators in gender equality and economic independence.

  2. 02

    Training Course — Greece

19–26 April 2026 · Nea Makri, Greece · Thomas Beach Hotel

The training course brings together adult educators and partner staff to explore financial literacy, vulnerability and finances, gamification, game elements, player journeys and game prototype development. Participants work together to create initial game ideas for financial literacy education.

  3. 03

    Game development

After the training course, participants and partner organisations continue working on the games. Each partner adapts the game idea to the needs of women in their local context.

  4. 04

    Local testing and adaptation

The games are tested in local communities and adapted based on feedback. This process helps make the tools more practical, inclusive and relevant to women from different backgrounds.

  5. 05

    Toolkit development

The final toolkit will bring together the theoretical framework, good practices, training methodology and financial literacy games. It will support adult educators who want to use interactive methods in their own work.

  6. 06

    Local workshops and multiplier events

Each partner will organise local workshops and multiplier activities to share the methodology, test the tools and promote the sustainability of the project results.

  7. 07

    European dissemination

The project results will be shared through a European online event, partner communication channels and EPALE to reach adult educators and organisations beyond the partnership.
